Doo or Dye was founded in 1995 by John and Briana Cano to fill a void in the San Antonio hair scene, which at the time consisted of uppity high end wine serving shops and the polar opposite, $5 dollar, five minute clip joints. The shop is family owned and operated, by John and Briana. We wanted a fun laid back environment where you could chill and not have some snooty hairdresser look down their nose at you. Hatched from the same mind that managed live industrial sound and power from "THE VORTEX" `89-`91(RIP)and live music venue w/bizarre acts and D j's,"THE CAMEO THEATRE" `92-`97. DOO OR DYE cracked open officially Sept.1996. Out of necessity, in a direction not yet approached in the traditional salon services,we provide an opportunity for anyone wanting what is not available from "limited resource" or "non menu" haircuts or color.Our aggressive commitment and experience cannot be imitated, don't be disappointed by fakes or lesser qualified salons. DOO OR DYE is recognized by its clientèle and supported by other businesses not as only a hair salon, but also as a network agent with interests and involvement associated to art, music and nightlife.We proudly cosponsor many events such as S.A UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL and ALAMOCITY ROLLERGIRLS, as well as having held many art openings, media mixers and live music activities. Keep in mind, our environment is intended for mature clientèle. Unintentional audio, verbal or visual and disturbing content is to be expected and smoking is permitted. Doo or Dye features art from various local artists.We also carry our own line of unique styling products that compliment our individual haircutting techniques that can't be found  anywhere else.Doo or Dye is not a place for the closed minded or the weak of heart.
